THE BODY PROJECT
The Storyhound Theatrical Detective Agency's The Body Project tasked dozens of Greensboro artists with the challenge of unmaking the body and investigating what it meant to be human. We were each given one of the four humors to unpackage using our mediums. My humor was yellow bile (the choleric temperament). I made a short film, Leftovers, about a guilt-stricken, hot-tempered young man who I modeled heavily after Lady Macbeth.
AFTER HOURS
In the summer of 2018, I interned at Elsewhere Museum. As our last hurrah, each of the interns created new works in our fields and held an artist talk & group exhibit. I created a scavenger hunt for visitors, and debuted my series, I Am Everywhere You Remember, which featured three new shorts:
Elsewhere, Elsewhere
In the Water, On the Mirror
Dear Mom, It Is Still
The shorts were screened in various locations throughout the museum.
ABOUT
Imani Thomas is a filmmaker & photographer. As a kid, she thought there were people in her air vents and would tell them stories. Much to the thrill of her family, she decided to pursue visual storytelling and not things that were expected of kids who talked to walls. Imani enjoys making movies, taking portraits, boogie boarding, and buying clothes off the interwebs.
